Minuteman Press Fairport, NY is the local franchise of the nationally recognized design, print, and promotional products brand. Owner Rick Hall serves small businesses and organizations across the Fairport area with everything from business cards to full branded marketing campaigns.
The Problem
Like most small businesses, Minuteman Press had antivirus software installed and running. But when Rick noticed unusual activity in his email, he knew something wasn't right. Attackers had found a way in and were quietly working through connected accounts — and the existing antivirus hadn't caught a thing. Rick called Richard Cavallaro at Command Computing.

When Rick called, ironically Richard Cavallaro with Command Computing happened to be stopped at the traffic light directly in front of the shop. He started by neutralizing the threat — securing the email and key business accounts before the exposure could go any further — then worked methodically through every computer in the shop. The existing antivirus was replaced with ESET, which found and cleaned issues on every machine that had gone undetected. Outdated software was removed, Windows and Office were brought fully up to date, and a password manager was put in place to replace reused passwords with strong, unique credentials. Everything was resolved the same day.
